FitZen

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 July 2026

This policy explains what FitZen collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted. It covers the FitZen mobile app on iOS and Android, and this website.

FitZen is operated by Ali Mert Güleç, based in Türkiye. If anything here is unclear, write to info@alimertgulec.com and a person will answer.

The short version

  • We collect what the app needs to work: your account, the meals you log, and the goals you set.
  • Meal photos are sent to an AI provider to be analysed, and the result comes back to your diary.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app or from https://www.fitzenweb.com/account-deletion.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — your email address, plus a display name and profile picture if you add one.
  • Profile and goals — height, weight, age, sex, activity level, dietary preferences and the targets you set. Calorie and macro calculations are based on these.
  • Meal photos and logs — the photos you take for analysis, the foods that were recognised, any portions you corrected, and the meals saved to your diary.
  • Other tracked data — water intake, step count, fasting windows and weight entries you record.
  • Messages to the in-app nutrition assistant — your questions and the answers generated for you.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and app data — device model, operating system version, app version, language and region.
  • Usage data — which screens and features you open, session length, and crash reports.
  • Identifiers — a device identifier used for crash reporting and aggregate analytics.

Information from other services

  • Sign-in providers — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email address that provider shares with us. We never receive your password.
  • Purchases — subscription status comes from Apple and Google. Card details are handled entirely by them and never reach us.
  • Apple Health — on iOS, step data is read only after you grant permission, and only for the metrics you allow. You can withdraw that permission in iOS Settings at any time. This data is used to show your activity in the app and is not shared with anyone.

Why we use it

| Purpose | What it involves | | --- | --- | | Running the service | Creating your account, saving your diary, calculating calories and macros against your goals | | Analysing meal photos | Sending the photo to an AI provider and returning the recognised foods and nutrition values | | Personalisation | Adjusting targets, recipe suggestions and assistant answers to your own data | | Subscriptions | Checking whether your Premium access is active | | Support | Answering the messages you send us | | Improving the app | Understanding which features are used and fixing crashes, using aggregated usage data | | Legal obligations | Keeping records we are required by law to keep |

Where the law requires a legal basis, such as under the GDPR, we rely on performance of our contract with you for the core service, your consent for health data, camera access and notifications, and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure.

Meal photos and AI processing

When you photograph a meal, the image is uploaded and passed to a third-party AI provider that identifies the foods and estimates the portion. The nutrition values that come back are stored in your diary. You can edit or delete them, and deleting a meal removes its photo.

The estimate is a starting point, not a measurement. Accuracy drops for food hidden in sauce, stacked, or inside closed containers, which is why the app always lets you correct the portion before saving.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that make the app work:

  • Cloud infrastructure and database — Google Firebase, for authentication, data storage and file storage.
  • AI analysis — the provider that processes meal photos and generates assistant answers.
  • Subscriptions — Apple and Google, and RevenueCat for subscription management.
  • Analytics and crash reporting — used in aggregate to find and fix problems.

We may also disclose data if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your health data with advertisers.

Where your data is stored

Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and may be processed in countries other than your own, inside and outside the European Economic Area. Where data leaves the EEA, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • While your account is open — your account data and diary stay available to you.
  • After you delete your account — account and diary data are removed from our live systems promptly, and from backups within 30 days.
  • Support emails — kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on an issue.
  • Aggregated statistics — may be kept indefinitely, because they can no longer be linked to you.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the data we hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete your account and your data,
  • restrict or object to certain processing,
  • withdraw a consent you gave us, which does not affect what happened before you withdrew it.

Under the GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Under Türkiye's KVKK you have the equivalent rights set out in Article 11.

To exercise any of these, use the in-app deletion flow, the pages at https://www.fitzenweb.com/account-deletion and https://www.fitzenweb.com/data-deletion, or email info@alimertgulec.com. We answer within 30 days.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on infrastructure with access controls and encryption at rest. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we also ask you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device locked.

Children

FitZen is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to info@alimertgulec.com and we will delete it.

Health disclaimer

FitZen gives you information about food and activity. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for advice from a doctor or a registered dietitian. Talk to a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating.

Cookies and this website

The website uses only what it needs to load pages and to count visits in aggregate. It does not use advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you across other sites.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
