# FitZen > FitZen is a mobile nutrition app that calculates calories and macronutrients from a photograph of a meal. The user photographs their plate; the app identifies the foods and estimates the portion, then derives calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat and logs them against a daily target. Available on iOS and Android in 11 languages. FitZen also includes an intermittent fasting timer, a "smart kitchen" that generates recipes from whatever is in the user's fridge, an AI nutrition chat, and water and step tracking. Published by FitZen (Ali Mert Güleç), founded 2024, based in Türkiye. Customer reviews from the App Store are published verbatim on the home page, in the original Turkish alongside a translation; 6 of them, each with the reviewer's name and date, and all verifiable on the App Store listing. The app is free to download; unlimited photo analysis is part of a Premium subscription sold in weekly, monthly and yearly plans. This website is the app's marketing site and a 126-recipe archive of healthy recipes with calculated nutrition, published in 11 languages. Every recipe page states calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat per serving, plus an ingredient list, step-by-step method and tips. The default language is Turkish and it is served without a URL prefix; the other 10 languages are served under `/{language-code}/` with localised path segments (for example German recipes live at `/de/rezepte`). All content is server-rendered as plain HTML and is fully readable without executing JavaScript. ## Key pages - [Home — Turkish (default)](https://www.fitzenweb.com): what the app does, how it works, FAQ - [Home — English](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en): same page in English - [Recipe archive — Turkish](https://www.fitzenweb.com/recipes): all 126 recipes with calories and macros - [Recipe archive — English](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/recipes): the same archive in English - [Nutrition guides — English](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/blog): long-form guides on calorie calculation, macros and intermittent fasting - [Nutrition guides — Turkish](https://www.fitzenweb.com/blog): the same guides in Turkish - [RSS feed — Turkish](https://www.fitzenweb.com/feed.xml): newest guides and recipes - [RSS feed — English](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/feed.xml): the same feed in English (every language has one at /{code}/feed.xml) - [XML sitemap](https://www.fitzenweb.com/sitemap.xml): every page in all 11 languages with hreflang mappings - [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/tr/app/fitzen-ai-diet-nutrition/id6748159304): iOS download - [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fitzen4.app): Android download ## Languages The same content is published in 11 languages, each at its own URL and cross-linked with reciprocal hreflang annotations. The one-line summary after each link is the guide's own key takeaway. - [How does calorie counting from a photo actually work?](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/blog/how-photo-calorie-counting-works): Calorie counting from a photo happens in three steps: food recognition, portion estimation and database lookup. For clearly visible, separated dishes the estimate is usually workable; for food buried in sauce, stacked, or inside closed containers the error grows sharply. That is why serious apps never save the result directly — they open a correction screen first. - [How to calculate your daily calorie needs](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/blog/how-to-calculate-daily-calorie-needs): Your daily calorie need is your basal metabolic rate multiplied by an activity factor. Under the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, BMR is 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age − 161 for women and 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age + 5 for men. To lose weight, staying roughly 15-20% below that total produces a loss of about 0.3-0.7 kg per week. - [Intermittent fasting: a practical guide to 16:8](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/blog/intermittent-fasting-16-8-guide): 16:8 intermittent fasting means spending 16 hours of the day without calories and fitting every meal into an 8-hour window — eating between 12:00 and 20:00, for example, and taking only water, black coffee and unsweetened tea outside it. It tends to produce weight loss not through any metabolic trick but because fewer meals means total calorie intake falls on its own. - [Macros explained: balancing protein, carbs and fat](https://www.fitzenweb.com/en/blog/macros-protein-carbs-fat-explained): Protein and carbohydrate each carry 4 calories per gram; fat carries 9. For a healthy adult the common target ranges are 1.6-2.2 g of protein and 0.8-1 g of fat per kilogram of body weight, with the remaining calories coming from carbohydrate. Total calories decide whether your weight changes; the macro split decides satiety, muscle retention and training performance. ## Frequently asked questions - **How exactly does FitZen calculate calories from a photo of a meal?** — Your photo goes to a vision model. It separates the foods on the plate, estimates the portion using reference objects and plate size, then pulls calorie and macro values from a nutrition database. Before you confirm, you can adjust the portion or correct any food it misread. - **How accurate is the calorie estimate from a photo, and which dishes does it get wrong?** — Accuracy is high for foods that are clearly visible and separated. It gets harder with dishes buried in sauce, stacked on top of each other, or in closed containers. That is why an adjustment screen opens after every analysis — the estimate is a starting point, and you have the final say. - **Can I use FitZen for free, and which features do I have to pay for?** — The app is free to download and the core tracking features are free to use. Unlimited photo analysis, smart kitchen and nutrition chat are part of the Premium subscription, which you can cancel at any time through the App Store or Google Play. - **How much does a FitZen Premium subscription cost, and is there a free trial?** — At Turkish App Store prices: ₺149.99 weekly, ₺199.99 monthly and ₺1,299.99 yearly. The yearly plan works out considerably cheaper than the monthly one. Dietitian sessions are sold as separate packages. - **Which languages does FitZen support, and is the recipe archive translated too?** — The interface and content are available in 11 languages: Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese, Thai and Malay. Every recipe on this site is published in the same 11 languages. - **What happens to my meal photos and health data, and who is it shared with?** — Your account data and meal history are stored against your account and are not sold to third parties. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data from inside the app or through the account deletion page on this site. - **Which phones does FitZen run on, and can I use it without an internet connection?** — iPhone and Android phones, via the App Store and Google Play. Photo analysis needs an internet connection; previously logged data stays viewable offline. - **I do intermittent fasting — does FitZen work with a 16:8 schedule?** — Yes. The app includes a fasting timer: pick a preset such as 16:8 or 18:6, or define your own window. Fasting and eating windows run on the same screen as your calorie tracking. ## Selected recipes Thirty of 126.
